Not perfect but perfect for each other

Aaron and I have been married for 5 years today! The last 5 years have been amazing. We have traveled, bought our first house, moved to a new city, bought our second house, and most recently welcomed our first child! Here is a quick look (long blog) at the last 5 years.

Our wedding day – April 15, 2006

Our honeymoon – A cruise to Montego Bay, Jamaica; Grand Cayman, and Cozumel, Mexico

First Anniversary – Trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica
Having fun trying a new drink.

Second Anniversary – Dinner out followed by a June cruise to Alaska with Aaron’s parents and brother. I encourage everyone to go to Alaska. It is breathtakingly beautiful. I can’t wait to go back! Aaron created this video full of pictures. To see the originals or even more pictures, check out the 4 photo albums I have on facebook.

Third Anniversary – A nice dinner out followed by a trip in July to Puerto Morelos, Mexico. We stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancun and would go back in a heartbeat. We took a snorkeling trip, went to Xel-Ha, went to Tulum, went into town to look around and enjoyed relaxing by the beach and pool.

Fourth Anniversary – Dinner out followed by a trip in early May to Cozumel, Mexico to celebrate our anniversary and our last big trip before Alex would be joining us. I am so glad we had this trip booked when we found out we were expecting! I never would have agreed to spend the money once we knew we were going to have a little one. I couldn’t enjoy the all of the food or any adult drinks and the heat really got to me one day but we had a blast. We did lots of snorkeling (two to three times a day, everyday) and hanging out by the pool. We even had private roof top pool thanks to Aaron who knows how to find travel deals! We also did a Jeep tour of the island. It was fun to get out and drive around the entire island, snorkel and see different sites but man it was HOT! At the last stop, a lighthouse, I chose to lounge in a hammock while Aaron walked around. Once we got back we stayed in the a/c and didn’t really go out of the room the next day until our afternoon snorkel trip. I needed to get my energy back. I am so glad I did because on our snorkel trip I finally got to see not one but two sea turtles!
At a stop on our Jeep tour
Alex liked swimming and the boat ride!
I was 24 week pregnant with my amazing little man!

There was good snorkeling at our resort

There were lots of fish to see!

In between our big trips, we have taken several trips to Las Vegas, a road trip to Florida to meet our niece and see her baptized, and a trip to New Orleans. This year we aren’t doing a big trip but we are getting away for several days, just the two of us. I know I am going to have a really hard time leaving my little man but I am looking forward to spending time with my wonderful husband fishing and paddling around in our kayaks and relaxing.

In the last 5 years we have gone from a new family of 2 to a family of 3. I cherish every minute with Aaron and Alex. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband. He helps around the house, he prepares & washes Alex’s bottles, as well as mine, while I get Alex ready for bed and nurse him. I fall more in love everyday just watching him with Alex.  He cheers me up when I am down and always knows how to make me laugh. He takes care of me when I am sick and accepts the bad with the good. We might not be perfect but we are perfect for each other. I am excited about raising our son and growing old together. I thank God for him and our little boy everyday.
