We have just over 2 months! Time is going so fast. I finally went through all of Alex’s clothes and pulled out the things that we find acceptable for a little girl. The funny part was I was ok with some things but Aaron said they were to boy! We have a lot to do still. We are moving several rooms around so there is a lot to do! I really wanted to try and get as much done before Thanksgiving as possible but I didn’t get as much done as I had hoped. I took the entire week of Thanksgiving off and I did get some stuff done around the house, but nothing with baby girl’s room. We picked up a crib from my cousin over Thanksgiving so now I really want to get moving on her room. She won’t sleep in her room for a month or two but I would like for it to be ready before she arrives. We are so lucky to have a crib to borrow and clothes/other items being passed down from my family and Aaron’s.
The weekend of October 28th, Aaron and I headed to Austin while Alex got to spend the weekend with Aaron’s family. On that Saturday, Aaron took the SIT (surveyor in training) test while I got to spend time with a good friend from college. After Aaron finished, we all went out to eat and talked football, fishing and what we have been up to. Vanessa, Aaron and I had a bunch of classes together. Vanessa and I also share a birthday so it sort of acted as a little birthday party. Her husband loves football probably as much as Aaron does, and they both also kayak and fish. We did have a little tradition going where the boys took us to a home A&M game each year around our birthday but that stopped last year. I am hoping that we can maybe start that up again next year! I woke up sick on Sunday and thankfully Aaron’s parents kept Alex Sunday night as well so I could rest and get better. Alex got to go to another pumpkin patch and bounce in a bounce house. He had a blast! Looking at the pictures, I’m thinking he didn’t miss us at all.
Friday the November 4th I had book club, the 5th Aaron hosted a bachelor party at our house so Alex and I headed to Galveston and Monday the 7th I got to attend an awesome event at my best friend’s church. It was a busy weekend/start to the week but I had a lot of fun. My book club is full of a bunch of awesome ladies and I always enjoy our conversations about the book of the month or other topics. I’m so thankful that my best friend Meagan got it started! Alex and I had a great time in Galveston even though it was short. It was nice to just hang out with Rachel and the girls. On Monday I attended an awesome event at Meagan’s church called Table Grace. Table Grace is a women’s event where volunteers get tables to decorate (it stays a secret until you get there the day of); dinner is served by the men of the church followed by door prizes, praise and worship and a speaker. It is a really awesome event and it is so fun to walk around and look at the different tables. Our table was awesome! Meagan and Aston did a great job. I hope I will be able to attend again in the future.
On November 10th we celebrated my birthday, on the 17th we had the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner for our good friends wedding and on the 18th, Jimmy and Melissa got married! Whoop! Aaron’s parents came up on the 17th and stayed through the 19th so that they could watch Alex for us both nights. We can’t thank them enough. It was so nice to have two adult nights in a row with my wonderful hubby and our friends.
For Thanksgiving we went to Granbury and thankfully my dad was not called out for a trip! Aaron got to take his kayak out on the river, Aaron and my dad extended his bed extender so we can carry the kayaks up higher, and the boys fixed the wheels to make walking long distances with the kayak easier. Alex had a blast with my family and the dogs. I wish we all (both sides of the family) lived closer together!
Now for pictures!
