Month 2

Alex’s second month was full of visitors and trips. Rachel and the girls came up for a weekend; we took a trip to Galveston, and a trip to Granbury to meet more family. Alex really started to smile a lot. He is so cute! I started back to work just before Alex turned two months. It was extremely hard to leave him. I cried everyday for a week or more. It was definitely harder than giving birth! Before going back to work, I did a little test run of leaving him for a few hours. When we went to Galveston, my mother-in-law watched Alex for a couple of hours so that I could finally take my kayak out for a few hours. My father-in-law, Aaron, Rachel and I went and just cruised around for an hour or so. It felt good to finally get out on the water. I got my kayak before Alex was born but was unable to take it out before he arrived. Later that weekend, Rachel watched Alex so I could go fishing with Aaron and my father-in-law. I didn’t catch any keepers but I had fun. My first day back at work went as well as can be expected. I managed to not cry while at work but I did cry a little as I left the daycare. I could not wait to get home to him! Now for pictures of my sweet baby boy!
